Telem Camp - Photography Workshop
This year 8 Campers were taught how to take self-portraits while exploring what they identify in themselves as African. Campers used props, costumes, attire and personal items to demonstrate their African identity in their self-portraits.
See their work and read their intentions behind their photographs:
David: "Making figures stand out, as Africans do, with our colorful clothes"
Kadijatu: "A natural girl at home in her jungle, at one with nature"

Lamarana: "An African Queen, but as giving as the U.N"

Lamine: "Walking in nature, like a pirate in Senegal"
Maimunata: "Sitting in the village looking down... A Salone girl"
Momodou: "An African Musician playing in front of people"
Ngozi: "Africans are serious about what is around them, and don't take it lightly"
Obehioye: "Bright, with nose, ears, hair, and shape representing Africa"
